Ketogenic diet: she loses about 50 kilos without doing sports
After having reached the 103 kilos, Teresa Venetoulis lost nearly 50 kilos without practicing sports. Thanks to the ketogenic diet, it has gone from a size 50 to a surprising 36 in a few months.Originally from Australia, Teresa Venetoulis began accumulating unwanted pounds after the birth of her first child in 2009. Then, after an abortion in 2010 and health problems, the Australian took 50 kg in less than a year . She even reached 103 kilos.
However, in less than a year and without exercising, she lost 49 kg. Aged 33, she grew from a size 50 to an incredible 36 in just 10 months of dieting. Now she weighs 54 kg. For this, she started a ketogenic diet.
The ketogenic diet
The ketogenic diet is a diet rich in lipids particularly fashionable for some years. According to the Health Passport website, this diet aims to significantly reduce the consumption of carbohydrates in favor of lipids to cause a state of ketosis. The body then burns fat in the absence of carbohydrates.The ketogenic diet forced Teresa to remove all carbohydrates from her diet. It now consumes many foods rich in protein and fat, such as fatty fish (including salmon), lean meat, nuts, avocados and eggs.
Teresa Venetoulis started following this diet after consulting her doctor. The latter had recommended that he follow this "fashionable" diet to help relieve his hormonal and fertility problems. Only two months after the beginning of her carbohydrate restriction, she had lost 15 pounds.
Teresa Venetoulis also practices intermittent fasting, a method that consists of alternating an 8-hour feeding period with a 16-hour fasting period.
